Welcome to Casita Cameo in Santa Fe, New Mexico
Once upon a time, two artists fell in love, became best friends, combined their resources, married and learned to work together renovating houses into homes. It turns out that they were pretty good at it and Casita Cameo is their latest collaboration...
Built in 1948 and renovated in 2015, our guesthouse, Casita Cameo, is located on 822 Agua Fria Street in Santa Fe’s Guadalupe-Railyard district and is less than a mile from the historic downtown Santa Fe Plaza. Casita Cameo is a one bedroom, one bath freestanding cottage that sleeps four. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen size "Room & Board" platform sleeper sofa in the living room. Additional amenities include free wifi, cable tv, and a washer and dryer. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to savor and explore local ingredients, and the private fenced courtyard offers al fresco dining with a patio table, chairs and a gas grill. Offstreet parking for two vehicles in front of Casita Cameo makes it easy for you to walk around town, or take daytrips to Bandelier, Taos, Albuquerque, or Abiquiu.
Casita Cameo is pet-friendly! Please ask about the pet policy.
Just minutes away surrounding Santa Fe's downtown Plaza, you’ll find the cultural attractions of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, the New Mexico History Museum, the IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, plus downtown art galleries, shopping and award-winning restaurants. There are also many historic churches and properties in the downtown area that reflect the multicultural history of the region dating back to the early 1600s.
Within the Guadalupe-Railyard district, you’ll find SITE Santa Fe, Bullseye Glass Resource Center, Santa Fe Clay, the Farmer’s Market, as well as boutique movie theaters, plus another collection of fantastic contemporary art galleries, shops and restaurants. And of course, the famed galleries that line Canyon Road are just 1.5 miles away, not only representing artists from Santa Fe and the greater southwest region, but also artists from all over the world.
Romi is the artist who lives in the historically contributing territorial style adobe house at the front of the property located on part of the old El Camino Real. When not working in her studio or on renovations, Romi looks after the organic gardens around the ocmpound. Chip's joyful spirit and hospitality live on in the details he designed for guests. Casita Cameo is located in the center of the property, with a private fenced yard and off-street parking. Romi would love to have you visit and fall in love with Santa Fe just as she & Chip did over ten years ago.
